Digital consultancy and advice

The CLC team is made up of specialists in teaching computing, online safety and creative use of technology across the curriculum and includes accredited Online Safety Mark and NaaceMark assessors, and CEOP Ambassadors. Since January 2021 we’ve been running Blended, a programme exploring blended learning pedagogies meaning we have the expertise to support you with everything including procurement, developing a remote learning strategy and redesigning your computing curriculum.

Online Safety

Do you need help with online safety?

The CLC team includes accredited Online Safety Mark and NaaceMark assessors and CEOP Ambassadors, and we have strong links with leading online safety bodies, such as the UK Safer Internet Centre. We can work with your whole school community, from teachers and pupils to parents and technicians, to support them in better understanding their responsibilities for keeping children and young people safe online. We are also able to support schools wishing to apply for the Ofsted-recognised Online Safety Mark (360 Safe) or to make use of the new 360 data tool.

How can we support online safety in your school, including remote learning?

Audit your school’s provision and apply for the  Online Safety Mark using a consultancy session to help you prepare

  • Review the wider curriculum in light of the Education for a Connected World framework from UKCIS and associated Project Evolve resources in a consultancy 
  • Review the suitability of online safety measures in remote learning solutions
  • Use a consultancy session to have a member of our team help you review policies and user agreements, or review curriculum planning in light of the Education for a Connected World framework and Project Evolve resources 
  • Use a consultancy session to review safeguarding implications of tools used for remote learning
  • Use a consultancy session to have us run online safety assemblies or digital literacy workshops in school 
  • Discuss how we can support you and your digital leaders in helping the wider school community better understand your online safety policies and practice
  • Use a workshop to run a parents’ and carers’ online safety briefing or talk with one of our adult education and family learning experts.
  • Use a consultancy and run a briefing session for governors

We provide a telephone and email advice service. If your query requires significant input, we may suggest that it is best taken as a consultancy session. New to subject leadership in primary computing: Session 1

This programme is designed for primary teachers who have recently taken on responsibilities and leadership for technology and computing. It will cover curriculum planning, tools and resources, methods for supporting colleagues and progression and assessment. Colleagues will be expected to attend all three sessions. The third session will be held in a school and will include classroom visits.

Primary modern foreign languages forum: Using technology for teaching and learning

This session is for languages (MFL) subject leaders or anyone involved in the coordinating or teaching of languages. The forum will give teachers the opportunity to learn about curriculum updates and how digital tools can support blended learning. Teachers will also discuss the latest developments in primary languages and share their expertise and experiences. The discussion will be followed by a CLC-led practical session that will demonstrate how digital technology can be used to aid language learning.
